So wrap me in the cloak of your arrays
The etches on the surface
Are the trials giving purpose
And the underlying worth is
What has given us our days

So hold me in the warmth of better times
Where seconds are a bounty
Hours stretch but don’t confound me
And in solace, we sleep soundly
Til serenity we find

So touch me with the honesty of words
The cadence of your meaning
As a song of heaven leaning
So the sun can pierce the evening
Where belief is being stirred

So swear that all the pain is swept aside
Please help me find composure
Til the wounds are given closure
So these fragile hands can hold yours
And as one we sympathize

About A. P. Christopher

I'm a cynic, a nihilist, and a pessimist. I'm a hermit filling the interior walls of my empty cavern with the words and pictures of a mind adrift in disparity. I also like lifting weights.

  1. Fantastic work! Short, but still very strong
