Frigid

All that used to be a growing warmth has been denied
The promise of a sudden resurrection truly died
And what has come of us when we’ve the courage just to hide
Desires livid

All that used to be a growing hope has been decried
The promise of a sun has turned to pyres under tide
And what has come of us when with our honesty we’ve lied
For nothing vivid

All that used to be a growing seed we sweetly plied
The promise of a harvest turned to ashes of our pride
And what has come of us when only failure have we tried
So very rigid

All that used to be a growing want my fingers pried
The promise of a touch from you became a river dried
And what will come of us when warmth is gone and you, my guide,
Would leave me frigid
